Jo B. Woehrstein

Jo is a scientist, entrepreneur, and co-founder of DEOXY. Being originally trained as a physicist, Jo found his passion for genomics, biotech, and ultimately for the venture to understand life's molecular workings.
As a scientist, Jo worked in various laboratories at TU Munich, Aarhus University, Harvard University, LMU Munich, and the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry. Three years at the Wyss Institute at Harvard shaped his entrepreneurial mindset and focused it on biotechnology.
Today, Jo has founded multiple biotech companies and leads a research group at the Faculty for Physics at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich.
